Use the fully portable Rio ProLift for just 20 minutes a day, five times a week and you will start to feel the results of a natural face lift in just four weeks. Practised for over fourty years in beauty salons, faradic facial toning uses EMS (Electro-Muscle Stimulation) to activate the nerves that control the facial muscles. The pulses gently contract and relax the facial muscles to help tone, lift and tighten. The pulses generated mimic natural nerve signals to exercise the facial muscles. This stimulation also increases local circulation, bringing more oxygen to the skin cells and encourages the removal of toxins from the skin, to leave the skin feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
The Rio ProLift has two headset controllers (one each side) that will need to be set to the chosen mode, before positioning the unit on the face between the cheek bones and jaw line. Ensure the mode setting on the left and right headsets match for even toning. There are six different treatment modes ranging from A-F. Each mode will work the muscles in a slightly different way by varying rhythm and number/length of contractions. There are also a total of 10 intensity levels. It is always best to start on a lower intensity level and work up until you feel full contractions. For best results it is recommended to use the Rio ProLift for twenty minutes every day for the first few weeks, alternating between modes A to C each day, then use as required to maintain good tone. If you want a more varied workout you can also use modes D to F.
Effective face toning and firming is based on light and gentle exercise of the facial muscles. Should you experience any discomfort, reduce the intensity level or remove the unit from your face. To begin with, the pulses give a mild tingling sensation and as the intensity is increased you will notice muscle contractions. The muscle contractions are smooth and each will start with a slow rise, hold in a contracted position for a few seconds and then gently relax. Start on a low intensity until you get used to the sensation, then build up until muscle contractions are felt. Your teeth may feel slightly sensitive during treatment, this is perfectly normal. For comfort it is advised that you try not to clench your teeth when using the unit.

I bought the prolift and started using it on the 29th of October. I actually struggled to find any real reviews on this anywhere including the manufacturer, so I thought I would leave my own detailed one. Several years ago, I bought the Cleo face toner for £300, and it was a nightmare to use, the pads kept falling off and you had to sit completely still so I gave up with it. I recently looked at the slendertone face unit, also very expensive, the Rio prolift looked like a cheaper version so I bought this one instead. It's really easy to use but you need to take your time and position it exactly as in the photo's. It's comfortable to wear, and after nearly 2 weeks I am starting to see a reduction in eye bags, a slight lift in the jowel area and under my chin appears a little tighter. The instructions say use daily for 20 minutes for "a few weeks", I am going to follow slendertone guidelines which say 12 weeks, and I will then post an update. I find it best to apply good quality moisturiser or coconut oil after use to cool the skin down, as it does work it hard. Rio are careful about the claims they make for this product other than it lifts the face so time will tell. Anyway, well worth the money in my opinion : ).Review: Today is the 25th of January 2012. I have been using the unit now for 12 weeks, missed the odd day here and there but generally 20 minutes a day. I decided to use programme 4 all of the time as it combined 3 different modes. My best test of whether it has worked is to put a mirror on a horizontal flat surface and bend over to look into it. At the start my face was very slack. When I look now bent at 90 degrees it looks almost the same as when I am stood up straight, so my conclusion is that it works very well. I still have slight jowels which I am hoping will improve more if I continue to use daily for a few more weeks, but the nasal labial fold running from the corner of the nostril of the nose down to the corner of the mouth has almost gone, and eye bags are gone completely - I should add that being in my mid 50's I am not expecting miracles. I think starting this in the early 40's would reap even bigger benefits. I will post another review at 6 months. BTW, buy the batteries on ebay or it will cost a fortune - they need changing every 3 weeks.03/02/2012 update.I have been asked about positioning, it should be just under the cheekbone and above the jawbone, with the middle lined fairly close to the ear canal as shown in the handbook, however it depends on your face shape,I have a very small face and can only just get it in position,if your eyes flutter AND your lips move you have it about right. The another question was about which modes I used, I have just used mode E 20 minutes a day for the 12 weeks as it combines A,B, and C, am going to continue with E up to 6 months as I am hoping for further lift on the jowels. Will update again then.

Was a bit apprehensive about buying this. Am in my early 40s and budget quite tight. Downside was the appliance slid around and sat uncomfortably and felt like it is actually accentuating drag as it slid down or forward. But having persisted, using various methods like holding it in place, the upside was that after only 4 days of 2x10min sessions I was already seeing results. And that was with a day off inbetween. I hoped that after 1-2 weeks of continuous use I would have the face back that was last seen 5 years ago! Am rating only 3 out of 5 due to awkwardness of the thing. UPDATE: started using the device at too high a setting, caused uncomfortable facial muscle twitching and eye muscle kept twitching AFTER I had removed the device. Took 5 minutes for the nerve to stop and was quite scary. Better instructions (with diagrams and perhaps Troubleshooting tips) would be appreciated.

I used it for the first time! It does not slide or slip at all as the part that looks like a head set fits nicely around the neck.In fact it felt perfectly posistioned and a firm nice fit!I enjoyed playing with all the settings and it was fun and not a nuisance chore.My face has had a work out lol.I only have 1 gripe and that is when I put the batteries in the battery compartment lids will not go on so Im going to ring Rio to ask about the nack how to do it.It took me a while to get it started the first time and I thought maybe it was faulty but hurrah once I got the hangof the instructions it was working nicely.def reccomend>Max
