This was very much a considered purchase - an expensive piece of kit for washing your face when normally a cloth will suffice! But I was convinced by the glowing reviews, I needed a bit of extra help to try and reduce the appearance of pores, and generally improve my skin tone - basically everything the Clarisonic promises!The first time I used it felt great, I really did feel like my face had been cleansed like it had never been cleansed before. I read the supplied instructions very carefully, used the timer to make sure I didn't over-do it, and certainly never pressed on hard. I had even watched a video about it on YouTube so knew exactly what I was doing and what to expect.Well, after just 5 days of using it, my cheeks were covered in tiny broken capillaries, and looked very pink (not a great look for a 36 y/o guy!). I had never had this condition before and at first I didn't know what had happened. It didn't take much searching on Google to find out the cause and it seems to be quite a common occurrence - there is no shortage of people happy to tell you about it. I was really quite angry that there was no warning about this with the product, since it is obviously a known possible side-effect. In fact, the only warning at all is a very generic 'do not use if you think you have any kind of skin condition', of which (at the time) I didn't.The fact that people are prepared to spend this kind of money on a skincare product shows that skincare is something that is extremely important to them, but for Clarisonic to know about issues with this device that can actually make your skin worse and offer no warning about it is just disgraceful.Even people that are happy with the Clarisonic may still have problems with it somewhere down the line - there is recently a case of someone using the Clarisonic for 2 years without any issues then suddenly broken capillaries all over.I thought very hard before giving a 1 star review, I don't doubt that when the Clarisonic works it does its job very well, but I can only rate it on my own experience, and on that basis it was just a very expensive mistake. If there had been any warnings at all, at least I could have thought 'well at least I knew this could happen', but there wasn't, so I couldn't!I can only hope that this review at least gives others a chance to decide whether they want to take that risk.

I bought this product on recommendation due to a problem I was having with congested skin/acne. Its easy to use and something that is quickly incorporated in my skin cleansing routine, both night and day. And because one only need use it a minute at a time, I don't think the "novelty" of using it will wear off. Ive had many complements from people about how radiant I'm looking these days. What can I say .... I'm a very satisfied customer.
